"Drawing his first picture with great detail at only 3 years old, it was obvious where Tedore was headed. Tedore Rekhviashvili was born in Adigeni, Georgia –a post-war country where poverty had established itself as a part of everyday life. Tedore found happiness in the basic materials he was given and used his imagination and curiosity to make up for the rest. In second grade, he was accepted into Tbilisi School of Arts, where he was put on a strict academic schedule that taught him the basics of composition, color, shape and matter. After finishing the program with honors, Tedore proceeded to receive a full scholarship to gain his bachelor’s and masters at Tbilisi state academy of arts. Recently he has also completed his MFA at New York Academy of art and has been granted the opportunity to expand his work past the borders of his own home country. While studying for his master’s he picked up many techniques including linocut, lithography, etching and graphic design. Learning about graphic design opened his eyes to a world of three-dimensional concepts that became realistic modelled figures that served as the focal points of his paintings. During his years of education, Tedore encountered a professor that taught him the importance of meaning and truth behind his art, through which he developed paintings full of life and landscapes of his childhood village, at where he felt most comfortable. Artists like Calude Monet and Joan Mitchell inspired him to look into the unknown and infinite world when creating, inspiring his creation of a normal in abstract and alternative ways. Most of his previous art has been exhibited in Galleries and Museums in Tbiisi, Georgia and in New York. Future exhibitions are planned for London, England and Milan, Italy. He has also received and been nominated for several awards for his works of fine art and illustration during his years of schooling".
