Designer, Curator, Illustrator

Born in 1964 in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Education:

1981-1986 study of Mathematics, Painting and English at the Tbilisi State University. 1986-1989 post - graduate study of Mathematics at the Moscow State University; 1991-1995 - teacher and researcher at various Universities in Georgia, Germany, Japan; 1995 - Co-founder of Diogene Publishers Tbilisi, co-founder of the Georgian Publisher’s Association. 1995 - 2008 work as publisher, graphic designer, illustrator, interior designer, copywriter, musician, translator and interpreter. 2009 - 2012 - Professor of Graphic Design at the Tbilisi state Academy of Arts. With the group of his students, founded Virgam Virtual Publishers in 2009; 2012 - founder of the Book Art Center Tbilisi; Founder and curator of the Tbilisi Book Days Illustration and Book Art Festival, founder of the Georgian Picture Book Idea Award; Curator of numerous illustration and book art exhibitions in Tbilisi, Frankfurt, Leipzig, Bologna, Saarbrücken, Kiev, Krasnoyarsk. 2014 - 2015 - nominated twice for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. Since 2016 - Professor of Communication Design at the International School of Design Tbilisi;
